  LOVE IT ! I like the big bulb lights ,very cool . THis year at work we have two tall flocked trees that have bulbs like that ,and they are a big hit with everyone .

  2010 CHRISTMAS CARD EXCHANGE

  i will volunteer to coordinate this.. if you would like a card sent to you or send a card, pm me your mailing address and a name the post office will deliver to.. what do you think the cut off date should be for sending the exchange lists out to everyone?.

  do you want it pm'd or e-mailed (if emailed send your email address with your snail mail.. i know that cards going overseas can take longer.. .

  Children of adult ex-jw's

  my wife and i were both jw's for the past 28 years.

  we left two years ago, we wrote our da letters and split.. my wife felt very contained, there was no room to grow.

  i started to fade slowly, but when my mom died, i saw the complete lack of love from the brothers and that sealed the deal for me.. we have two sons, 22 and 26, who we raised as witnesses, not the die hard type, just try and do your best.

  We raised our all three of our sons in the religion .All were baptised . When we left the two oldest were out living on their own at 21 and 24 ,the youngest was 18 still living at home . The youngest has a deep hatred for the JWs ....it worries me he is so angery with all of them.

  Our middle son was the most active spiritually .In fact my JW brother told me when I stopped going to meetings that I should know that son would never leave 'the truth'.......He slowly faded from meetings two yrs ago ,did alot of reading of Dawkins ,and now is pretty much an Atheist. He doesn't seem to resent the Witnesses other than their shallow mindedness and unwillingness to think for themselves . His former friends have tried to use the fact they all use to look up to him as a guilt trip for leaving .His favorite saying is "Witnesses only taught us what to think not HOW to think "

  The oldest just blames being lazy and moving a couple of times as his inactivity . He doesn't have any desire to get involved with any religion .He never says anything bad about JWs ,but he doesn't seem to be happy with the judgemental attitude his former friends have towards him and his wife just because they no longer attend meetings . His wifes family has told her she is bad association for them unless she returns to meetings ....She is a strong willed person and I know she can see they are using emotional blackmail ....and she will have none of that .

  I do expect there will come a time when they might be resentful of us for not being smart enough to see the real truth alot sooner , but so far they have been understanding.They realize we did only what we could at the time with what we knew .

  im just about at 14 weeks.

  i thought i had the answers to all, until i got that "positive" on the pregnancy test.

  aWSNAP , So happy for you and your husband . I loved being pregnant( except the sick part ) and having babies . Don't worry about the Jw stuff right now ,just enjoy the moment . The best feeling ever is that first kick .

  When the time is right (after your child is born and hormones are back in regular mode) then you can start laying the ground rules for appropriate behavior of JW relatives around your child .

  One major rule I would stick to no matter what ...."No JW relative that shuns you will have access to your child " . I can not believe how many df'd individuals that are shunned by their own parents will allow these gr . parents to act that way towards them yet have free accessability to the kids ....it is so disrespectful and a very bad lesson for the young ones to learn . I see it happening in a couple of old friends families ,and it breaks my heart .

  On advice about of having a baby my input would be nurse if at all possible . I did with all three of my kids and I have no regrets . It is uncomfortable at first, but in a few weeks it is fine .

  i am a da'd dub circa 1993 (born in).

  i have been an extremely successful business owner over the years but about 6 months ago augered in from about 60k feet.

  my jw parents have been aware of my situation.

  It sounds like your Dad is just realizing in his old age how much he has missed out with you .Maybe he is ready to just be the kind of Dad he has always wanted to be .

  I would just appreciate the offer ,and if you need the help take it . This may be a step to reconciliation for your family .

  America's Most Wanted profiles JW Elder Child Molester

  last night on amw, they profiled the jw elder child molester.

  they detailed how he'd planned to be on the run by stashing money all around his house, how he quickly got a divorce when he was being investigated, sold off his assets in a race car business and disappeared.

  one lady interviewed incognito, told of how he was a trusted member in the congregation with privileges.. did anyone else see this segment?

  The write up on the AMW site is very damning to the JWs in my opinion . The article states he was able to molest girls over a 25 yr span ,and move among several congregations because of the "two witness" rule before a JC could be conveined . Elders knew of accusations yet no one in the congregation was warned .
